Classes and Private Instruction:
I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge of photography with others who love seeing the world through the lens of a camera. My classes and private instruction are designed to be exciting and creative experiences that give participants the opportunity to learn and build their photography skills in beautiful locations. I work to create personalized learning experiences for beginning and intermediate photographers.
Classes are limited to no more than 12 participants. This low student teacher ratio insures individual attention for everyone. Private instruction is available starting with 2 hour sessions up to multi-day instruction. Classroom type instruction is required for some subjects but most of my instruction is conducted hands-on in the field. If you love photography and want to increase your ability to share your vision with others, a workshop is perfect for you.
Private instruction is also available. Subject matter can be custom designed to fit your personal needs or you can select from a variety of topics that are appropriate for a wide range of beginning and intermediate photographers.

Priddy Woods
Priddy Woods is our outdoor nature school. We will be teaching classes on the BlueRidge Parkway, at the Asheville Botanical Gardens, and other interesting as well as beautiful locations. There may even be a classes at Priddy Woods in the future.
Each class will be out of doors getting up close with nature. The first series of classes will be "The Southern Appalachian Trees - A Journaling Class." I will be posting the schedule of classes in September of 2011 for the series of classes offered in 2012.
During each class, we will visit and study approximately seven trees. There are to be 12 sessions offered each year. When all 12 sessions are completed, you will really know all the trees in the Southern Appalachians.
My plan is to have this be Criteria I class through the North Carolina Environmental Education Certification Program.
While taking the Journaling classes, each student will visit each tree once with me and revisit each tree on their own three more times, once per season. Each and every time a tree is visited, a journal entry will be made. Observations, using all of our senses, will be recorded in our journals. Observations will include the name, location, size, age, leaf, bark, bud, flower, fruit, twigs, color, smell, taste, landscape and personal impressions of each tree. By the time the Journal is complete; the student will really know the tree and be able to identify each species in all four seasons.
I am writing the Journal that we will be using in the classes. My daughter, R. Brooke Priddy, is the illustrator. The journal book is called,
A Tree Journal
